Energy is invisible, until you make people feel it in their own legs. Our energy and environment collection does exactly that. Instead of reading about kilowatts on a label, visitors pedal a bike to light a city, stomp on a dance floor to generate a current, and pump, spin and race to see how much power their own bodies can produce. It’s a subject that can feel abstract and worthy, reimagined as something physical, competitive and genuinely fun.
The collection spans the full energy story. Renewable and human-powered exhibits, the Cycling Race, Energy Dance Floor, Pump It Up, Wind Turbine and Wave Tank, let visitors generate electricity and watch it do real work. By generating power with their own bodies, visitors get a felt sense of what energy costs and what a watt actually is: how hard you have to pedal to run a lightbulb versus a kettle, why some sources are steadier than others, and how energy is transferred, stored and lost along the way.
