Silence Race is a nerve-jangling test of stealth that turns simple walking into a thrilling challenge. The goal sounds easy, cross a gravel path from one end to the other, but there is a catch: on a big screen ahead, a lion lies fast asleep, and the smallest crunch underfoot might wake it. Piezo sensors buried beneath the gravel listen to every footstep, translating the noise into a live meter that climbs with each careless step. Tiptoe carefully and the lion sleeps on; make too much noise and it wakes with a mighty roar. A camera inside the cabinet even lets waiting visitors watch each attempt play out on an outside screen, turning every crossing into a suspenseful little spectacle.
Visitor Experience
The challenge grips visitors the moment they step onto the gravel and see the sleeping lion watching over the path. Every footstep becomes a careful negotiation, and the on-screen noise meter gives instant, tension-building feedback, creep too heavily and the bar surges toward the danger zone. Children instinctively slow down, place their feet with exaggerated care, and hold their breath as they inch forward, only to jump and laugh when a misstep sends the lion into a roar. Outside, friends and family watch the whole drama unfold live on the external screen, cheering and groaning along with each attempt. It is a wonderfully replayable game of self-control that has children lining up to prove they can be the quietest of them all.

Silence Race measures the sound of every footstep and turns it into a game:
1. Sensor-lined path. Piezo sensors set beneath the gravel detect the noise created as visitors walk across.
2. Live noise meter. A screen in front of the path shows the noise level rising and falling in real time.
3. Wake the lion. A large screen displays a sleeping lion; if the noise crosses a set threshold, the lion wakes and roars.
4. Watch from outside. A camera inside the cabinet streams each attempt, with the noise visualisation, to a screen outside for other visitors to enjoy.
