Art Store
The Art Store is a hands-on digital painting studio built for Nickelodeon Play Istanbul. Designed to look like a charming little shop, it lines up six easel-style cabinets, each fitted with its own touch screen, so a whole group of children can create side by side. Visitors step up, choose a drawing outline from the on-screen gallery, and bring it to life with a full set of digital paint tools. There is no mess and nothing to clean up, yet the experience keeps all the delight of colouring by hand. It is an inviting introduction to digital art that rewards imagination and turns a few quiet minutes into a small, colourful masterpiece.
Visitor Experience
The experience begins at one of the six easels, where a visitor is greeted by a screen full of drawing outlines to choose from. Once a picture is picked, a palette of digital paint tools appears, inviting the child to fill the shapes with colour, experiment with brushes, and undo and try again as often as they like. Because each easel works on its own, friends and siblings can paint together without waiting for a turn, comparing their creations as they go. The easel-shaped cabinets and playful shopfront make the whole corner feel like a real artists studio, and the familiar tap-and-drag controls mean even the youngest guests are painting confidently within seconds.
How It Works
The Art Store combines simple, sturdy hardware with friendly software so that every visit runs smoothly:
- Six touch-screen easels. Each cabinet is built in the shape of an easel and houses its own touch screen, giving six children an independent station to work at.
- Guided outlines. The software offers a gallery of ready-made drawing outlines, so visitors always start from a clear picture rather than a blank canvas.
- Digital paint tools. A set of on-screen brushes, colours and fills lets children paint directly with their fingertips, with instant results and no mess.
- Reset and repeat. Every station clears itself for the next artist, so the exhibit stays inviting and ready throughout a busy day.
The result is a durable, low-maintenance art activity that captures the joy of colouring while showing how a touch screen can turn painting into a shared, screen-based adventure.
