Interactive Recycling Bin Exhibit

The Interactive Recycling Bin exhibit aims to highlight the recycling process and underscore the importance of proper waste separation. Designed to engage and educate, this interactive experience features five distinct bins, each corresponding to a different material type: glass, paper, metal, batteries, and plastic.

Visitor Experience

Visitors approach the Interactive Recycling Bin and simulate recycling by pushing a molded object into the bin, representing a real-life waste item. As the object is inserted to a depth of approximately half the bin’s height, it momentarily locks into place. During this process, a corresponding item of the same material type is released from the bottom of the bin, and the interactive display lights up to indicate that the recycling action has been successfully completed. To restart the interaction, visitors can use a second push handle located at the top of the bin.
