Projected Paint Exhibit

Projected Paint Exhibit
Projected Master Paint is a clever drawing studio that gives every child a helping hand to become an artist. Built as four independent units, it lets up to four visitors create side by side, each at their own station with a paper slot and a row of buttons. Press a button and a picture is projected up onto the paper from below — first in full colour, then slowly fading until only a gentle outline remains. That vanishing guide is the magic: children trace the shape and fill it with their own pens and crayons, ending up with a finished drawing that feels entirely their own. With a freely updatable library of shapes and pictures, the exhibit keeps every visit fresh and turns a blank page into an invitation to create.
Visitor Experience
Choosing a picture is the first delight — a press of a button conjures a full-colour image onto the paper, and children watch, fascinated, as it slowly fades to leave a faint outline behind. From there the page is theirs: they trace the lines, choose their colours and bring the picture to life exactly as they imagine it, guided just enough to feel confident but free to make it their own. Because there are four stations, friends and siblings paint together, comparing pictures and cheering on each other’s masterpieces. The gentle projection takes away the fear of the blank page, so even hesitant young artists commit their first confident strokes — and leave clutching a drawing they are proud to have made.
How It Works?
rojected Master Paint combines a simple projection trick with hands-on drawing:
- Four independent units: Each of the four stations has its own paper slot and controls, so four children can create at once.
- Choose a picture: Pressing a button projects a chosen drawing up onto the paper from below.
- Colour fades to outline: The full-colour image is shown first, then fades slowly until only a faint outline is left to follow.
- Trace and colour: Children draw over the outline and colour it in with their own pens and crayons, keeping the finished artwork.
With a freely updatable set of shapes and pictures, Projected Master Paint is a low-mess, high-reward art station that guides children to a finished drawing while leaving all the creativity to them.
